MOL and APL announce direct Vietnam – US West Coast services

Both MOL and APL have announced direct services from Vietnam to the West Coast of North America
.

Mitsui OSK Lines' Pacific Southwest Express (PSX) service will begin calling on Cai Mep in South Vietnam.

The first vessel - the 6,350 TEU MOL Premium, will depart Cai Mep on June 4th.

The PSX service will provide comprehensive coverage of the Pacific Southwest with calls at the ports of Los Angeles and Oakland.

The PSX port rotation will be: Cai Mep ( Wed/Thu) > Hong Kong (Sun/Sun) > Yantian (Mon/Tue) > Los Angeles (Sat/Tue) > Oakland (Wed/Thu) > Tokyo (Sun/Mon) > Xiamen (Thu/Thu) > Dachan Bay (Fri/Sat) > Hong Kong (Sat/Sun) > Cai Mep (Wed).

Transit times to Los Angeles will be sixteen days from Cai Mep and eleven days from Yantian.

APL has also announced the launch of a new weekly direct container shipping service linking Vietnam and the West Coast of North America.

From June 4th, the 4,250 TEU APL Denver, which is deployed on APL's Pacific South 1 (PS1) service, is scheduled to make one of the first calls at the Saigon Port-PSA facility in the first week of June.

The direct Transpacific service offers customers APL's GuaranteedTM Direct service (day-definite, money-back-guaranteed service for full containerloads), and APL' LinerTrainTM

service (dedicated APL cargo trains scheduled to meet APL vessels, departing from on-dock rail facilities in Seattle and Los Angeles to major US inland markets).

Transit time from Vietnam to the US West Coast will be fifteen days.
